Welcome Back!
We are so excited you’re here.
A few notes as you get started:
Several things have changed since the last time you were here. We have added new courses and new faculty, redesigned our materials and relaunched it all within a cool new virtual learning platform. As you know, our courses are specifically designed with professional development in mind and exclusively focused on preparing survivors to fulfill their career dreams. Whether you are creating a life plan, learning leadership skills, establishing financial literacy, or preparing for a job interview, Elevate Academy offers everything you need to pursue new opportunities with confidence.
As our platform has evolved over time, so has our student learning and development path. We have upgraded our application process for current students as well as new students, and you’ll also notice we have created a new, clear path to graduation. Each student is required to complete three courses to graduate (2 core classes + 1 elective). You also now have the choice to enroll in the spring, summer, or fall semesters, and it only takes one semester to graduate. Following graduation, students are granted lifetime access to Elevate’s entire library of courses as well as unique internship or job-shadowing opportunities.
We know committing (or recommitting!) to growth is never easy and we applaud you for continuing to take steps forward for your personal and professional development!
As you are committed to your own growth, we are fully committed to coaching you and supporting you throughout the process. Part of our renewed commitment to our students is ensuring that they are fully prepared for the semester ahead and have a comprehensive understanding of what the new Elevate Academy coursework entails.
Our learning path includes two robust core courses focused on life planning and professional development. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to choose any elective you want to complete your requirements for graduation. If you previously completed an elective course, you will be eligible to bypass the elective requirement after you finish the core courses.
Here’s the new schedule:
The first 4 weeks of the semester are dedicated to LifePlan Launch (LPL), an incredible life-changing dive into building a plan for pursuing your dreams. This course is hosted by a partner of ours and requires 2-3 hours of self-paced video instruction and homework assignments each week plus a 1-hour live cohort meeting where you’ll join other students for a discussion on the week’s assignment. (Note: You will be asked to create a separate account on the LPL platform to access these classes. You can start working on your LPL core course before the semester starts).
The next 4 weeks are focused on the Professional Development course, requiring approximately 1 hour each week for self-paced video instruction and homework plus 1 additional hour for the live cohort meeting with fellow students.
The final 4 weeks of the semester are spent on the elective of your choice, requiring approximately 1 hour each week for self-paced video instruction and homework plus 1 additional hour for the live cohort meeting with fellow students.
Is now the right time?
Not only is it important that you understand the requirements of the coursework, it’s also important that all incoming students, including alumni like you, have stability in the five most important areas of their life before they proceed with enrollment. Please take a moment to read through the following self-assessment questions and answer them honestly for yourself:
I have continually been out of exploitation and human trafficking for the past 12 months and healing work has been part of my recovery. Yes or No
I have people that often provide me support. (This support may include family members, a therapist, mentors, church members, or close friends.) Yes or No
Receiving healing from trauma is important to me and I actively work on that. Yes or No
I have reliable access to the internet and have access to a private area to participate in online courses and live weekly cohorts. Yes or No
I am committed and able to spend 2-4 hours weekly for 12 weeks to complete this program. Yes or No
If, after reading the self-assessment, you realize that it’s not the right time to enroll or the commitment is too big for your current capacity, that’s ok! You can always come back for the summer or fall semester. In the meantime, check out our Resource Guide, a little something we put together to make sure you have the tools you need. On the other hand, if you feel fully informed and ready to move forward with enrollment, the next step is to fill out and submit your registration form. (You may have filled out a similar form in the past, but we are asking all students to submit a new registration form in order to set up your profile in our new learning platform.) Follow the Registration link below and we'll take care of the rest!
